Dear Parents
I trust that you have had a really
good summer holiday and by now I am sure many of you will be
only too pleased to see your sons and daughters heading off back
to school. We are certainly glad to welcome all the new pupils
who have joined us this term. These include not only those
joining from Middle Schools but a number of pupils who have
moved into the area or transferred from private schools.

OTHER NEWS AND DEVELOPMENTS
Work is proceeding towards the new Library Resource
Centre. We had anticipated that building would begin in
November. As so often happens, this date now appears to be
slipping closer to the New Year.
The County has agreed to spend a considerable amount of money
up-grading the administration accommodation in the school. This
will happen some time after April 1990.
PARENTS' BALLOT ON THE
PROPOSALS FOR A 'CONTINENTAL' DAY
All parents should have received a discussion paper and
voting form. (If not please contact the school for new ones, or
search your youngster's school bag.) The last day for sending in
ballot forms is Friday 29th September.
RICHARD SWIFT has
been Chairman of the Friends for the past three years. A change
in his work commitments has forced his resignation from that
post. On behalf of the school I would like to thank him for all
the time, effort and good humour that he has put into that role.
The school is very grateful for all that the Friends contribute.
SCHOOL FUND
Again may I express my thanks for your generosity. At
the time of writing this the Fund stands at over £3,000 with
many envelopes still to open. Please be assured that the school
will use this sum in the best interest of our young people.
PARENTS' PRAYER GROUP
A group of parents meets to pray for the welfare of the
school. If you would be interested in joining them please
contact Mr. and Mrs. Benko on East Horsley 2777.
REQUESTS FOR HELP
1) Mrs. Hodgson is looking for help in the Careers
Library. If there is a parent who could offer a couple of hours
per week or fortnight for filing and sorting documents, please
contact her at the school.
2) We still have a need for fully serviceable filing cabinets.
If you can help, please contact the Headteacher.
