THE SCHOOL DAY

Morning Session 08.55-12.20
Afternoon Session 13.20-15.25
Teaching Time/week 24 hours 15 minutes

Start of the School Day - Children should be in the playground no earlier than 08.45. If there is a special reason for children arriving in school earlier, permission for this must be sought from the Headteacher. This is for the safety and care of your child.

Breaktime - There is a mid-morning break. Children may bring a snack of cheese or a piece of fruit for the playtime break. Water is available from the drinking fountains.

School Meals - The quality of our school meals is high and is in line with Surrey County Council's Healthy Eating campaign. Children may ask for small portions but they are encouraged to eat a little of everything unless parents inform us that a child is unable to eat specific foods on health or religious grounds.

Dinner Money - Dinner money should be sent on a Monday morning in a named envelope and we would appreciate the exact amount whenever that is possible. Cheques should be made payable to Surrey County Council.

Packed Lunches - Children may bring packed lunches in a clearly-named lunch box. Please do not send fizzy drinks in cans or bottles.

Pupils or parents on Income Support may be entitled to free or partly-paid meals. Forms can be obtained from the school office and are to be returned to school for processing.

Beginning of School Day - All children congregate in the lower playground before 08.55. A member of staff will be on duty in the lower playground from 08.45 until the bell rings at 08.55. Parents are encouraged to wave goodbye to their children at the school gate and not to wait in the playground.

Children arriving by car should be dropped off in the upper playground and are expected to join the other children in the lower playground. Please note that the drive directly in front of the School Office can become very congested with incoming/outgoing traffic and should not be used for parking.

End of the School Day - Parents arriving by car to collect their children should wait in the upper playground and should arrive no sooner than 15.10. Those parents arriving on foot should meet their children in the lower playground.

On occasions when children are not collected as expected they will be asked to wait by the School Office so that they can be supervised. If possible, please 'phone before the end of the school day to let us know that you may be delayed.
