4. CHAIRMAN'S REPORT
I would like to start by welcoming everyone here. I would like to
thank Bryan Clasby, Alison Bingham our teacher rep and the rest
of the staff for their total support. To thank Alison Teague and
Karen Cherighini, for their many years on the committee we wish
them and their families well.
Events this year have been well attended and well supported, the beer tent and children performing at the summer fete proved popular. The treasure hunt raised a fantastic sum towards the school ground development. The change of Head resulted in a period of taking stock to see what we need and we have not spent as much this year although this has changed with this new term! We continue to need more committee members, but have had good support with the running of events. With free books from Red House books and those purchased by the Friends we have managed to place over £1000 of books into the classes and library again this year.
5. TREASURERS REPORT
Copy of accounts attached, agreed as correct Ian Deans
seconded Pauline Quinnell.
As our income is under £10,000 the Charity Committee advise that we only have to audit every 3/5 years. We have therefore written asking for a change in our constitution so that we may implement this. Should this be agreed we would next need the books auditing for the year 2002/03, as they were audited 1999/2000. Should the charities commission request us to continue, as at present we will look for a volunteer. We have a Balance of £3251.10 with which to start the new school year. Agreed to change, vote held agreed by all.
6. HEAD TEACHERS REPORT
Mr Clasby echoed the thanks to the Friends that had been
included in the Governors AGM report. He thanked everyone who had
supported the events this year, for the active and supportive PTA
that we have.
Mr Clasby reported the positive effect the playtime boxes had made, as well as the much needed books, he also reported enjoying listening to the children having drum lessons on the kit brought this year. Mr Clasby thanked Kim Chouls and Sue Thompson, for being able to fit in Friends events at short notice, and Ian Deans for his input in the development of the learning suite.
7. ELECTION OF AUDITOR
Not required at present, whilst we await charity
commissions confirmation on rule changes.
